Rules and Regulations

Training and Placement Cell follows the below mentioned rules and regulations for the smooth conduct of the campus placement drive. These rules can be modified or relaxed by the Professor In-charge, Training and Placement at any stage for the mass interest of the students.

  • The Training and Placement Cell, hereby being referred as T&P shall follow One Person One Job Policy, irrespective of the job offered by an organization or the PPO (Pre Placement Offer) offered via internship. In case, the student is not interested in accepting the PPO, the concerned student is required to submit the proof that the PPO has been withdrawn by the respective organization till then the PPO would be considered as a job offer through the T&P Cell and he/she will not be allowed to appear in the ongoing round of the campus placement process.
  • In case, the final result of an organization is awaited, the shortlisted students shall continue to be eligible to appear in the upcoming companies. Once the awaited result is received, the selected students will not be allowed to appear further in the ongoing process of the recruitment of any organization.
  • Visit of the organizations are being scheduled considering many parameters like pay package, company profile, etc., but it may not be feasible in all cases. Hence, the students are advised to consider such parameters while applying for companies.
  • The academic credentials of the students will be verified from the Academic Section by the T&P office. Any manipulation or alterations, will immediately debar the student from the placement drive.
  • It is mandatory for the shortlisted students to attend the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) delivered by the company representatives. In case the shortlisting has not been provided, all those students who have given expression of interest have to attend the company PPT. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the students who are absent during the same.
  • The second round of placements of any branch will commence only after 80% of the eligible students get placed in the respective branch (excluding the bonus companies). The placed students will be eligible for the second round only if the package offered is greater than the initial offer. Internship offer will be considered equivalent to job offer for the PG students.
  • If a student gets placed in a bonus company, he/she will be eligible for the ongoing and further rounds of placement drive but would not be eligible for other bonus companies.
  • The students having one job offer, are eligible to appear in PSUs only if 60% of the eligible students of the respective branch have already been placed. If the first offer is in a PSU, the concerned students will not be eligible for any other organization including PSUs in the ongoing and further round(s) of placement drive. Students with two job opportunities (excluding bonus company) will not be allowed to participate for any other placement including PSU’s.
  • T&P Office will allow Pool-Campus Drives only with other Institutes of Repute.
  • T&P office will maintain the attendance record of the students at every stage of the placement process of the organizations. Students are required to sign their attendance to get the attendance benefit.

Guidelines for the Students

A few guidelines regarding the campus placement drive are annexed as follows and the students are advised to follow these in true spirit.

  • The students should continuously check the T&P notice board and Google group for the updates.
  • The students should submit their applications within the deadline announced by the PCC coordinator. Late submissions will not be entertained.
  • One should apply to an organization only if he/she is eligible and interested in taking up a job in the organization. No subsequent withdrawal of application shall be entertained.
  • The students are advised to go through the company website to get more insight about the company and judge their suitability for the job. Any queries must be clarified with the company officials during the PPT by the company representative only.
  • The students can clarify their doubts regarding the placement process with either the PCC Member or T&P office.
  • The students are advised to report in time for PPT, written test and interview. Any late entry will not be allowed.
  • The students must present their identity proof before appearing for a company.
  • The students must carry their mark sheets and certificates in a portfolio file along with passport size photographs and a copy of their resume for the interview.
  • The students should be formally dressed while appearing for the interview.
  • During the interview, no students except those shortlisted for the interview and the coordinating PCC student member(s) put on duty, are allowed to be present in the T&P cell.
  • Any student found indulge in any kind of indiscipline during placement procedure may be debarred from the placement for the whole year.
  • The students should maintain silence in and around the T&P cell.
  • The students should maintain decorum and their activities should not disturb the functioning of various offices in the building especially during announcement of the placement result (no celebration and distribution of sweets/eatables).
  • Any instances of argument with company officials will not be tolerated. Any complaint by company officials will be taken very seriously.
  • Girl students can be allowed beyond the hostel timings only under compelling circumstances, otherwise the regular hostel timings should be adhered to.

Guidelines for the PCC student members

Following are the guidelines for the PCC student members and they are advised to strictly adhere to.

  • The PCC members will duly inform the T&P Office about the companies, he/she is in contact with to avoid unnecessary involvement of other PCC members concerning the same company.
  • After receiving the JNF/INF, the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) will be decided by the T&P team and will be maintained throughout the process.
  • The Expression of Interest of the students will be collected, sorted and verified by the PCC members of the concerned branch and will be sent to the SPOC for further procedure.
  • All the permissions including those concerning the Guest House, CCN, Senate, Girls’ Hostel etc. must be taken in advance.
  • Visit of more than one company on the same day should be avoided at the level best.
  • In case any organization requests the shortlisted candidates to visit their location for the final round, necessary arrangements including the transport, accommodation etc. will be managed by the concerned PCC members. The PCC member may accompany the students to the given location.
  • All the PCC members must be properly dressed inside the T&P cell.
  • The PCC members will provide separate attendance records of registered/shortlisted students appearing for the PPT, tests, group discussions and interviews to the T&P Office.
  • The PCC members must ensure that the online tests are conducted in a fair and smooth manner.
  • The concerned PCC members must try to take the feedback from the company officials at the end of the recruitment process.
  • The PCC members must ensure that the placement record register is updated after the completion of the process.
