The School of Biomedical Engineering was established in 2013 with the objective of providing a multidisciplinary research and teaching program in Bio Medical Engineering that advances fundamental understanding of how biological systems operate and to develop effective biology and medical-based technologies for applications across a wide spectrum of societal needs including innovations in diagnosis, therapy of human diseases, design of novel biomaterials, biomedical devices, medical signal and image processing and in solving environmental hazard.

 

History of Coordinator

Dr. L. M. Saini is working as Professor in Electrical Engg. Deptt. NIT, Kurukshetra. He is founder coordinator of School of Biomedical Engg. in NIT, Kurukshetra. His subject areas of interest are Analog, Digital, Power electronics, Embedded systems and application areas of interest are Power system and Power Electronics. He has published quality research papers in IEEE, IEE (now IET), Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, Emerald and IJCAS. He has received along with Dr. A. Kumar and Dr. S. K. Aggarwal, 2009 highly commendable award from Emerald, UK for their research paper which has been adjudged best among all the research papers published throughout the year 2008 in the journal. Dr. Saini has got a patent on Detection and prevention of theft of electricity on Power Distribution systems and its automation in the form of smart meters.

To advance and spread knowledge and awareness in the area of Biomedical Engineering through multidisciplinary teaching and research contributing to healthcare, humanity and environment.

  4. To make the post-graduates more responsible by improving their competency in Biomedical Engineering practice and research
